We are planning a trip the last two weeks in May 2019. We will start out in Italy, flying into Rome and then take a train to Cinque Terre. Then we want to fly to Split or Dubrovnik, Croatia. Are there any airlines that fly from Pisa or Florence to Croatia at that time of year? I realize we can go back south to Rome and fly from there, but it's really out of the way, so would rather not if possible. Any other suggestions?
At. www.skyscanner.com, you can do a fairly wide search, such as from Italy to Croatia or from Pisa to Croatia, etc. You can also view by month, which helps when routes are not served every day.
Try websites such as Skyscanner for your travel dates. You may have to fly into Zagreb or take the ferry.
Go to wikipedia and enter "Split airport" and the wikipedia page will give you a list of every airline that flies into Split and which airports it flies direct to/from Split. Then do the same thing for Dubrovnik. Looks like Vueling at least flies Split-Florence, seasonally. If none of the options listed work for you, it might not be terribly difficult to take a Freccia direct train 2 hours to Rome (then 30" from Termini) to the Rome airport.
You can fly (at least currently) from Florence to Split with Vueling, but there is only one weekly flight, on Fridays.
Otherwise you need to go to Rome or possibly Milan Malpensa (EasyJet).
Wow, jmauldinuu!!! That was super helpful! Who knew that wikipedia would actually come in handy! Thank you!
I wouldn't consider Wikipedia an accurate source of information on airlines serving any airport. The airport's own website might be a better source.
Flying out of Florence was extremely limited - like only one day a week in May, so we'll probably fly from Rome to either Split or Dubrovnik. Both Croatia Air and Vueling offer those flights, with Vueling being about 1/2 the price of Croatia Air. Does anyone know anything about that airline?
Looks like you're already getting some responses to this question (Vueling vs. Croatia Air) on your newly posted topic. Isn't this forum great?!
