Flights from Boston to Florence - okay to book from Kayak?

I'm looking for flights for October and want to be sure to get best flights without worries. So many cancellations lately. Plus, is it okay to book from Kayak or should I go to the airline website? Thanks in advance.

Book on the actual airline site.
Kayak won't help you if anything goes wrong.
I'd never book anywhere BUT the actual airline site.

Do not use a third party site. Book directly with the airlines. You're in for a heap of frustration if a third party booking gets canceled or delayed. Good luck!

The only use of sites like Kayak is to research fares. That's why Google flights doesn't actually sell tickets but gives you a direct link to the airline.

And if you were to search using Google Flights rather than Kayak you would get the same information -and Google would take you directly to the airline website. I have even found a couple combinations that way that Google took me to the airline, but had I searched the airline directly I could not have gotten the combination -these involved flights sold by American flying BA over and AA back. Even though they codeshare, neIther BA nor AA would sell the ticket if accessed directly, but when searched on Google, it went straight into AA when shown for purchase there.

Seriously, there is almost never any gain for buying from a third party, and you are then beholden to the third party for help.
