Hi we are staying in the Rialto area of Venice and we have to get to Marco Polo/Venice Airport for 7 AM flight. Is it workable to get to the airport for this time? What time would we have to leave our hotel in Rialto area that morning? Does anyone know what route and transportation is fastest? Thank you!

You might ask your hotel for recommendations. Second, water taxi - not cheap - at 5am.

The first No 5 bus from Piazzale Roma to the airport is at 4:30 am so that will get you to the airport by 5 am. Unless its a Sunday, then the first bus is at 5:40 am.
To get to Piazzale Roma from Rialto, the "N" boat leaves Rialto "C" at 4:02 am and Rialto Mercato at 4:04 am getting you to Piazzale Rome at 4:20 am, enough time to walk 200 ft to the waiting bus.
So that is how to do it if you're pinching pennies, 14 EUR pp for a combined boat + bus ticket. A water taxi will run about 130 EUR, but that will cover up to 4 people, then 10 EUR for each additional person up to 6 more people. And it will be a lot faster, like 30 minutes.

Venice ACTV website. Click on "Timetables", then "Waterbus" for the vaporetto, "Bus and Tram" for the ACTV airport bus.

in addition to knowing where to look for the website, the simple answer is that some of us here just know these things - and I check websites to verify that a last minute change has not happened. We've done some of these things so many times that the knowledge just beds into the brain.
That may sound like bragging - it isn't - but it really is true that for some of us the true answer is, we just know.
By the way, it may make a difference which side of the Grand Canal you will be on. As you see from the times above the N vaporetto stops on both sides, both Rialto and Rialto Mercato. You could even walk from the hotel to P. Roma at that time of the morning.

To amplify Nigel's reply, this is a common problem (early flights from Venice airport, and how to get there). So, us travel addicts have seen this question discussed on this Forum repeatedly.
In general, there are three ways to get from the center of Venice to the airport: water taxi, vaporetto plus bus (or land taxi), and Alilaguna boat. Knowing that, the only thing I would have to do to answer your question is look at the schedules for the vaporetto, bus, and Alilaguna (water taxis can leave at any time - as well they should at that price!).
And yes, we travel addicts "just know" all kinds of things. If you spend as many hours on this Forum as I have, you'll learn them too!
