We just found out that our flight out of Naples to Toronto has moved from 1:15 PM to 9:55 AM. We had planned on a relaxing day in Sorrento at the end of our 10 day trip to Italy, with a transfer from Sorrento to the Naples airport early on the day of our flight. Now, I think we need to be in Naples the night before our flight. Can anyone advise on this issue? How long does the drive take from Sorrento to Naples? Traffic issues? How far in advance should you arrive at the Naples airport for an international flight? Thank you in advance!

We ended up with a night in Naples at the end of our last trip due to an early flight. We stayed at http://www.orsini46.it/index_en.html, right at the waterfront. We spent the evening strolling the water area, had some awesome pizza, and then our hotel arranged an airport ride for us. There are actually cab stands right nearby as well with lots of cabs waiting.

Another good choice near the waterfront is Palazzo Alabardieri.
