flight from rome to venice

I did a search online for a flight from rome to venice. Ryan Air has a one way ticket for 29 euros. Does this seem too good to be true?

If 29 euros on Ryan air includes all taxes and surcharges grab that fare before it's gone. Ryan air as other low cost carriers have tiered fares.

If the 29 euros is airfare only, then that's high for Ryan Air. If it's everything then it's a good price.

Just remember that Ryan doesn't actually fly into Venice. they land at Treviso which is about 45 minutes to an hour bus ride east of Venice.

ryan also likes to nickel and dime you to death on extra fees as well. If you have checked luggage, if check in at the airport instead of online etc.

Terravision, which provides bus service from the Rome Termini train station to Ciampino, recommends that you be at the station three hours before your flight's scheduled departure time. Then, as Ron said, you have to allow time to get from Treviso to Venice. IMO, you're better off taking a fast EuroStar Italia train from the center of Rome to the center of Venice. Relax in a roomy seat, look out the window, and reduce your carbon footprint.

Factor in the costs to get to/from the airport and your 29 euro ticket price just moved up to train ticket range. The train stations are located in the center of each city so your actual travel time is less with the train. I'd take the train.

As the others who replied, I also suggest the train. You won't lose the time in getting to and from the airports. Second class on the trains is fine.

The standard 2nd class fare on a EuroStar Italia train is €56.10. The Amica fare (20% discount) is €44.90. If you buy your Rome-Venice ticket as soon as you arrive in Rome, you should be able to get the Amica fare. If any of the allotted seats are available, those fares are sold until midnight before the day of departure.

About 4 hrs and a half hours if you take a fairly direct train

The train ride is beautiful. 4 hours will go fast and you get to see the countryside and the transitions.

I have one word for you - train. Take it later in the afternoon and arrive in the not-too-late evening so you don't waste too much sightseeing time.
