Flight Catania to US, connection in Rome

We booked the first flight available (6AM) out of Catania on ITA, connecting in Rome. We have a ~3 hour layover in Rome before departing for the US. All on one ticket - we should be okay, yes? (Unless our flight is delayed, etc). We usually stay in Rome overnight so my better half is worried. And he’s not the worrier!

I think you’re fine. A couple of years ago I had Catania - Rome and then Rome - Miami, all in one ticket, with a 1 hour 55 minute layover in Rome (just checked the layover time), and it was fine.

Thanks Marco! Same leg we’re doing - we could have left Catania at 7AM but thought it was better to take the earlier flight.

While no one can predict what is going to happen on that day.....since it is on one ticket...if for some reason you miss the connection, the airline is responsible for getting you on the next available flight home for no additional charge. In fact, they may have to foot the bill for food and even a hotel room if they can't get you out in a reasonable amount of time.

All I can add is that we had about 90 minutes last month and it went well.

I'm not sure if they expanded that airport or if I'm just not remembering correctly, but it seemed so tremendous..and confusing on this past trip. Very confusing signage, or at least, confusing to me.

We had a lot of people on our Sicily tour that ended yesterday do this exact connection. They were picked up by cab from our Catania hotel at 4am and taken to the airport…no issues popped up in the Sicily Tour WhatsApp group chat. The Catania airport is pretty manageable just FYI.
