flat irons..I know ..again.

Has anyone had experience with the mini chi traveler flat iron? Stylist assured me it will work in Italy. Box says will convert to 220 with a regular adaptor. Thank You.

Mary,

I took the mini Chi to Ireland with me and it worked. (It did NOT get very hot there, but then again, it didn't when I tested it here either). I ended up taking my favorite full-sized one with me b/c of the lack of heat. But I did want to test the voltage, and it worked just fine in Ireland. Would assume it would also work in Italy.

I just got a Chi. I took my less expensive flat iron with me the last 2 trips to Italy, and Germany.

What I found was, you will hear a lot of noise from the iron when you plug it in. It will get hot...the noise will make you think something is wrong with the iron, but it's just the electrical current.

I don't think I'm going to risk taking my Chi on travels overseas. I will however take my $25 flat iron I bought in Target, that will be my "travel" iron. i love my Chi, so I want to keep it healthy...

I just bought a CHI, and the instructions say to not use adaptors, so I won't take the chance

"the instructions say to not use adapters, so I won't take the chance."

How are you going to use it in Europe, if you don't use an adapter?

oops, meant converters. Whatever! I will get a cheap flat iron and not risk ruining my CHI :)
