Flat Iron-Where to buy in Rome

Okay locals, I need your help. I will be traveling for business throughout Europe during the next 6 months and need to use a flat iron on my hair. Where can I buy them in Italy? The old target brand will fry my hair!!

I normally use a CHI, but I was not willing risk frying it with a converter in Italy last year. I ended up buying a cheap dual voltage model from Walmart with a Type A plug (American) and using a Type C plug converter. Mechanically, this seemed to work for the flat iron as everything operated normally. My hair was another story. Despite using a salon-brand heat protectant, my hair still fried on the cheap iron. I ended up having to cut off several inches and get a conditioning treatment when I returned. Since you are going to be gone for so long, I don't blame you for wanting to invest in a European model. If you want to purchase one from the States, Folica.com sells a Sedu Pro Type C for $128. My friend used one of these in Austria and it gets very good reviews on the site.

Laura, I went to Europe last September used a cheap Conair dual voltage model (the Breast Cancer model). It worked all over Europe without a problem. Only cost @ $20.

My flat iron comes from Magellan (dual voltage.) Haven't had a problem with it frying my hair.
