We(my husband and I) are trying to plan the second half of our trip to Italy.
We will be in the area May 7-12.
We would like to visit the Amalfi Coast and are wondering
?Where should we stay? Home base to daytrip from? Day Trips?
We usually stay in airbnb or BB looking for a place below $175/night
We did reserve a BB in Vietri Sul Mare just in case.

Amalfi town and Sorrento are the transpo hubs so either of those works well
It would be helpful to know which day trips you are interested in and what time of year this trip will be

From Vietri Sul Mare you can take the bus along the beautiful Amalfi coast all the way to Sorrento, stopping in the towns along the way. From Sorrento, you can take the train to Pompeii and on to Naples. If you don’t want to take the bus back along the Amalfi coast which takes a couple of hours, you can take the train from Naples to Salerno which is much faster and from Salerno it’s just a few minutes back to Vietri Sul Mare. You can also go to Salerno and take the train from there to Paestum.
