We had planned to take the train from the airport when we arrive this Wednesday.around 9:00 AM. But now I think I might like to arrange a taxi or transfer when we arrive. It seems it could be around €50 for two with bags (?). Can anyone recommend a company with whom I might try to make a last minute arrangement? Thanks very much.
The easiest is to just go to the official taxi stand and get a cab there.
Next easiest is to have your hotel arrange a car to meet you.
The taxi fare is fixed at 45 euro. Just go to the taxi and ignore any offers on the way to the taxi line. If you hotel is in the Termini area then use the train.
The fixed fare is 48 € per car to anywhere inside central Rome, ignore only the offers that are more expensive!
Thank you all for the prompt and helpful replies! Very helpful and appreciated.
FWIW, the best car companies are usually not available at the last minute. The taxi will be fine, as mentioned. Yes, the train would get you to termini, but it's more of a hassle than grabbing a cab that will take you and your luggage to your hotel door. Well worth the extra expense after a long flight.
Thanks Michael. And I’m with you, but Party B is eyeing a €20 something savings. We’ll see how it plays out after an overnight flight. It’s all up in the air...until we land.
Thanks agaIn to all who took the time to share.
