Fiumicino Hotels or B&B's

I have been looking on various sites for a reasonable hotel or B&B near Fiumicino and they all have terrible reviews.
Has anyone stayed somewhere nice?
It will be our first night in Italy and we will leave very early the next day for Lecce.
We will finish our trip in the centre of Rome for one week so we don't want to go into the centre.

The feedback, on this site, is that the Fiumicino airport hotels are typical airport hotels, designed for the convenience of business and other air travelers and not to enhance ambience. You can get decent and clean accommodations but you're not likely to get an airport hotel with consistently great reviews--I'd take the one that looks best to you but have modest expectations (it's just one night and the convenience of the location near the airport makes sense for you).

John,
We stayed in a Marriott Courtyard near the airport and it was fine. The pool was nice, the room was large and clean, and they also provided transport to the airport for a small charge. We stayed there for one night before leaving Rome. We walked into town that evening, near the port, where we watched the locals fish and enjoyed a really good dinner and a beautiful sunset. It was a total surprise.
