Fiumicino Airport (FCO) Late Arrival --11:50pm

My wife and I will be arriving at 11:50 PM to FCO and will need a place to sleep for a few hours. Is there anywhere near the airport that has check-ins that late (realistically, we won't even get off the plane until midnight). Everything I've seen online says buses and hotel shuttles atop well before we get there, and none of them I found had check-ins at that time. I know about the hotel connected to the airport, but that runs $200 a night, and I only plan on being there a few hours. Any ideas?

Where are you going after landing? Are you flying out the next morning?

There are cheaper hotels in the area (many with late check in) although you will need a taxi to get to it and also to get back to the airport the next morning. Check in booking.com but take into consideration at least 25€ Taxi each way even if you stay near the airport. So if the hotel is €120 once you add the taxi it will cost you 170€. Compare that and see if the Hilton is competitive since it’s the only one you can walk to.

If you only have 4 hours, it hardly seems worth going to a hotel at all. I've seen many people at various airports who've just stayed there and slept on the floor or on seats without arm rest style dividers or even sitting up.

Our son found some nifty blow up beds that he's used for himself and his family. You don't really blow them up. You run with them or swirl them around to fill them with air and seal them quickly.

His are these WEKAPO Inflatables. Each one weighs about 2.5 pounds. That might be more than you want to pack. He and his kids have used them in airports including ones in Japan as well as one in Pasco WA. Scroll down the linked page for more info.
