First trip to Italy same time as Jubilee/Easter

We planned our Venice, Florence and Rome in 10 days tour over a year ago for April 2025, and I did not realize until well after booking that this is the year of the Jubilee. On top of that, we'll be there Easter weekend. We are very excited and know these two events will make the trip even more special, but I am curious about the crowds. Do you skip the lines at the venues on the RS itinerary, I am assuming? I'm just trying to plan other activities during my free time and need to consider the crowd factor. Thanks for the feedback.

I haven't taken the tour but can tell you that any venue which involves a security check to access - whether they also have entry fees or not - will involve a queue for that process. NO one skips them. Not to worry, however, as they generally move quickly!

Some activities you may be looking at doing on your own may involve advance, timed-entry reservations...which means you'll have a specific day and time for your visit. While these avoid ticket lines, security queues still apply. If your tour is next month, you'll want to jump on making reservations right away for the most popular attractions that the tour doesn't cover. :O)

On Easter Monday is a big parade for Rome's foundation 2,778 years ago (Rome birthday 2025 MMDCCLXXVIII Dies Romana) starting from Circus Maximus at 11am. It goes to Teatro di Marcello, Piazza Venezia, Fori Imperiali, Colosseo. Very nice to see. I think, for St. Peter's is best Easter Monday morning, as more security checkpoints will be open.
