First Trip to Italy coming up

Should I be concerned for our safety due to raising import tariff talks ?

Behave politely, say Buongiorno and grazie, give no one a reason to think you are anything but a pleasant and respectful visitor.

roger,

"Went to Canada last week and got some rude comments for being from America"

I'm sorry to hear that. I would prefer a more polite response to visitors.

It’s probably best to leave partisan American shirts, hats, etc. behind. We met an American man wearing a “Let’s Go Brandon” t shirt in Rome and he really looked out of place. But otherwise I think you’ll be fine. Good luck with the trip!

I’m sorry you experienced rude Canadians.
That is not our way…I apologize on behalf of the rest of us.

All the Italians I've encountered on many, many visits to Italy, have been extremely warm and welcoming. You do not have to worry!!!! Where are you headed??

You're itinerary is to the typical places where there are large crowds of tourists from around the world; protecting your money or anything with resale value from pickpockets is the only threat to your safety;(wear a money belt and don't carry valuables like a passport in a bag or in your back pocket); also remember to validate your train or bus ticket when riding public transportation to avoid getting a large fine; there have been a lot of travelers that report getting in trouble not following the rules.
