First trip t Italy

sorry, hit send too soon! We are narrowing it down from seeing the ENTIRE country ( including where my grandfather was born) to two places. Rome is a no brainer so is one of the two. We are torn between the other being Tuscany or the Amalfi coast. Would you have any suggestions as to which one to choose for our first visit?
Thank you

What time of year?

I’d say Tuscany as it’s easier to get to and easier for first timers.

Tuscany. More room to roam and idyllic landscape. Not nearly as hectic atmosphere. Easier to get around and in and out of. Research which hill towns you want to visit.

Tuscany. More choice in so many things including transportation.

Critical to answering your question---

How long will you be there?

What is the ancestral village?

Thank you- we would go next May for our 47 anniversary- visiting my grandpas village ( Cortale ) is going to be a whole separate trip at it is in Calabria & 6 hours from Rome- we were leaning towards Tuscany too but Amalfi looks so beautiful!

Flying non stop into and out of Rome would be ideal for us as we are near Chicago, is that possible if booking a Rome /Tuscany tour with Rick?

You didn’t say how long your trip will last. That makes a big difference as to where you consider spending your time.

The RS tours do not include any arrangements for airline flights. Tour members must set that up on their own. Since you appear to going to Rome and then Tuscany, consider flying into Rome and back from Florence. Often cost less, and eliminates time lost backtracking. Look for "multi city" option when researching tickets.

thank you again- we will be going for 10-12 days of actual time in Italy- figuring two more days of travel but was hoping for two nonstop flights

When you book your flights you do not want “2 no stop flights”

You want a multi city or open jaw
Fly in to one location, leave from another

Looks to me like a RT to Rome would work for your plans.

Go for as many days as you can
Count your trip as NIGHTS on the ground in Italy
