Well, after much planning, our first trip to Italy is a reality in a little less than 48 hours. This helpline is a tremendous resource, and I wanted to thank all those that responded to my few questions, and to those who asked better questions than I, allowing me to study those responses for the last few months! We aren't new to travel, but it seems that going someplace new brings angst - as if we are travelling for the first time. That said, seeing the particularities/intricacies/customs of a country or culture through the eyes of those that have already experienced it makes for a settled feeling. We always have believed in traveling as "locals" and we can't wait for this experience. So, thanks again to all on here and if anything comes up during the trip, I know where to go for a quick assist!

Yea! Have a great time! "...it seems that going someplace new brings angst - as if we are travelling for the first time..." On reading responses to your own, and others' threads, you can continue to learn - returning to a place you've visited several times can seem like the first time - because there can be so many changes occurring in the interim. Reading the Helpline is certainly not a 'once and done' thing! Have you called your bank? Stopped your mail delivery? Set up your pet sitter? Confirmed your flight? Buon viaggio!
