Hello, we'll be transiting through Rome on a "first Sunday of the month" in March. We want to make the most of a morning in Rome before we go back out to the airport. Does anyone know how long the lines might be to get into the coliseum on a free Sunday?

Hard to say but the lines always seem long to me on the first Sundays.

Hello David,
hope you are doing well.
Usually to visit Coliseum you need to be in lines 45 minutes but being the firts Sunday of the Monday, you could wait more. My advice is to be there early (Coliseum opens at 8.30 Am) or in the late afternoon (close at 7 Pm) depending by your flight.
