First Sunday

I've read that Italy recently started an initiative where all state museums are free to everyone the first Sunday of the month. As we will be in Florence on a first Sunday (no way around that now!), I was wondering if anyone had any experience/knowledge about this? For instance, are there any problems using the Firenze Card for priority access, and/or is it still possible to schedule to schedule an entrance time on that day? We'll probably work our schedule so that we're not visiting the most popular places on that day, but, since I can find such little information out there about it, I was hoping someone may know something!

Thanks!

There is no priority access or scheduled times on free Sunday. You must get in the line with everyone else. There are no tickets so passes won't be honored. For sites that have capacity limits you must still call to book a reservation but the entry will be free. Once those slots are filled up they are gone and no one else will be allowed entry.

Any recommendations for sights in Florence to see on that day? Things that may not be too bad?
