Firenzecard or advance res. for Florence attractions

In Florence, is the Firenze card or just making advance reservations. Make for shortest wait times? There seems to be controversy over this. We will be in Florence arround 20 October/2013. Thanks for the help

Since the Firenze card went up to 72Euro, we have no plans to purchase it. I plan to simply get my hotel front desk to make advance reservations for us and pay the fee to skip the line. Lots cheaper than dolling out $96 (at today's rate, and the Euro isn't seeming to be going down in value) each for 3-4 things we really want to see. I'm sure it will make our trip less stressed as we won't be trying to "get our money's worth" by spending all our days inside a building looking at art. By the way...see you in Florence. We'll be there Oct 23... !

If you make reservations to the Uffizi, do book them well before you arrive in Florence; they can book up early. (Don't know about the Accademia; never "got" the appeal of David) If you're going to be there for a while, the Italian version of Friends of the Uffizi (not their US counterpart) is probably a better deal than the Firenze card, but only if you want to go multiple times to museums that require reservations.

My concern is what makes for the least delaying getting in these facilities, the Frienzecard or advance reservations if you have knowledge of this, please respond.

The Firenze card does save you a step (usually a 5-10 minute savings in time). When you make an advanced reservation, you still have to go to the reservation ticket booth (rarely lines) and actually get a printed ticket after you present your reservation confirmation. Then, you proceed the ticket holder line. With the Firenze pass, you can go directly to the ticket holder line.
To see what works best for you, add up the cost of what you want to see against the cost of the Firenze card. If you come within 5 euros, I say go for it.
