Hi Fellow Adventurers - I am still trying to figure out tickets in Florence. I see that the Firenze Card will give us more flexibility and that is good. We probably won't visit enough museums to pay for the card, but that is okay. I was still going to buy it. I am struggling with the Accademia and the Uffizi. If my husband and I have Firenze cards, then the kids 12 and 10 can get in free, but we need to stop at the ticket office and get their free card and reserve a time. What does that entail? I can buy those free tickets online with a specific time, but that defeats the purpose of the flexibility. OR I can skip the Frienze card and buy tickets for a specific time online through the B ticket site for all of us. Don't I still need to pick those up at the ticket counter? Then, we get in an express line? Does the Firenze card help at these two places if you have kids (US citizens)? Thanks!

Yes but so does advance adult tickets. This should answer your question about using the card with non-EU children (ignore the bit about picking up your cards using an app if you'll be using printed vouchers):
The process would be the same if using advance, timed-entry tickets. I've not taken children to Florence so never done this myself but never heard that picking up the kids' tickets involves any sort of lengthy wait.
I have written long winded responses to the firenze card. A few years ago, my family used firenze cards with our young daughter. I will give you some info. here. Then, I can answer you with more specific info. later.
1). Firenze cards are easy to get in Florence. No need to buy online advance.
2). Palazzo Vecchio - good place to walk-in and buy Firenze Passes.
3). Have your children with you when you purchase your FC.s. Children are added to their parents' cards by the clerk at no extra charge.
4). It doesn't matter whatsoever that your children are or are not EU citizens.
All kids get added free of charge to parents' cards.
Thank you so much for the help and replies!
Getting info. on Firenze Cards is difficult here in the USA. Some of the online info. is clear as mud. I had much confusion about them before I went to Italy. I learned from experience that FC.s are easy to get and use. I like to answer these questions to help other travelers. I wish I could record an online seminar about them for RS folks. Perhaps, I should do YouTube.
