Hey all, Was wondering if there's any benefit to buying the Firenze card and Roma Pass online and ahead of time, or if it's best just to buy it all there.

There is no advantage to buying ahead - you can buy each card at any TI kiosk or at the train stations as soon as you arrive.

I agree with Zoe, just wait until you get there to purchase the passes. There is no need to buy them online. I know that for the romapass if you buy online you must the location you wish to pick it up at. There have been times when some of the busier locations sell out then you face the hassle of having to transfer the reservation to another location. You can avoid this by just purchasing them once in country. Donna

Agree that buying there is the way to go for Roma Pass. I am hoping to hear from people who have actually used the Firenze Pass since Jan 2013 and the addition of Duomo and more. Prior to 1/2013, many folks said it was not worth it, but the additions are significant (I think)

So I stopped by a tourist info point earlier and they apparently don't accept credit card payments there (cash only). I came back to our hotel and just purchased the vouchers online and will return the the info point later to pick up our tickets. I hate to keep returning to the ATM for more euros when I can just charge, and I don't like carrying so much cash on me anyway... We'll see how this works out in Rome.
