I recently bought two Firenze Cards for an upcoming trip in May. Yesterday I got an email saying there is a new version of the app. It tells you to write down the number of your card then delete the old app and install the new version. Then re-register and enter your card number. Seemed simple enough. But of course none of this works. It didn’t recognize my account or the card number. I had second thoughts about this thing to begin with. I responded to the email. Now I wonder if I’ll ever hear back from them. 85€ x 2. Ugh!
Something does not sound right here - an email notification for a smartphone app update and a manual process to update the app? Where did you download the updated version from?

The version history for the app indicates that the latest version (2.0.0) was released March 01 2024 - so it's very early days yet in terms of the developers coming to terms with bugs in this rewrite of the software.
I wonder if you might be able to inquire about switching over to a physical card if an app fix does not happen prior to your trip?
I think many of us would like to hear about how this works out for you.

App is working now. Be aware that you will have two code numbers. One is a 13 digit Voucher Number and one is a 7 digit Card Number. Once you sign in, go to MY CARDS, then ADD CARD. You get two options – USE VOUCHER or USE CARD. Go with USE CARD and then ENTER CODE MANUALLY and use the 7 digit Card Number. All good!
