I have tried several times to buy a Firenze card, and I have been rejected. Does anyone have suggestions on how to do this?

Tell your credit card company / bank that you will be making transactions in Italy on such and so a day. Before you try again.

I didn't buy mine before arriving, so can't help you there but it's pretty easy to just buy it when you get to Florence. Got ours at Palazzo Vecchio - no line to buy, very quick and easy! And very much worth it to skip the regular lines, especially at the Accademia and Uffizi. We still had to wait about 15 minutes for each, but not nearly as long as the general admission lines!

Just buy it there. Your hotel will likely have lots of information about it and will be able to tell you the closest place to get it. We got ours at the Pitti Palace.

I agree, Buy it there!
At the adviceof the TI by the Baptistry, I bought mine at Palazzo Vecchio, with minimal lines (6 minutes maybe), and Pitti Palace would have been possibly even easier. Then take it to the busy sites (Duomo, Academia, Ufizi...) and walk right to the front - it's a great feeling :)
