Firenze card and reserving Uffizi

We understand that the Firenze card gets you to the front of the line (with the other Firenze card holders) and we bought one for each of us. But I am not clear on Rick's description of being at the front of the line at a museum that is so tightly booked. Do we need reservations on top of the Firenze card to avoid hours in line at the Uffizi?

There's a separate very short line for pass holders, no reservation needed. Just walk by the loooong line of non-passholders.
