Firenza Card - Is it worth it

Thinking of buying the Firenza Card for two day use in order to skip lines and reservations. Any comments? Does it get you into all the sites and museums?

First, the Firenze card is for 72 hrs, not 2 days. You can find almost all the information you need about the card and the museums it covers here: http://www.firenzecard.it/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=4&Itemid=105&lang=en

Whether or not it is worth it, as opposed to buying individual tickets in advance, depends entirely on how many of these places you think you will see, and how much value you place on skipping the ticket buying lines.

Or how much value you place on not reserving times in advance for the two or three top sites.

My husband and I are art and history junkies - so the Firenze Card more than paid for itself based on the number of museums we visited in our 72 hours! But just as valuable was the flexibility it gave us in not having to decide in advance exactly when we wanted to go the Uffizi and Accademia.

we are going in March. Are there many lines for the main museums during this time?

I agree with everything traylaparks states. If your goal is to visit several sites in 2 days, the Firenze Card saves you money. More importantly, it saves you TIME, which is a valuable commodity when you only have 2 days in Florence. Well worth the investment. On my first trip to Florence, I was there 2.5 days and visited 11 sites, plus saved 25 euros which enabled me to splurge toward a nice meal while sticking to budget.

YES, there will be lines for Uffizi and Accademia in March. March is the start of high season. So, you either need to get the FC with access anytime to Uffizi and Accademia, or you need to reserved timed tickets for both museums.

Happy planning!

We were in Florence in late April; and at that time only the Accademia and Uffizi had significant lines - and were they ever significant. We over-churched on a previous trip to Italy and didn't try to get inside the Duomo.
