I've been awed by FDF since I first saw it on a travel video! I'm staying in Amalfi Town, and was planning to spend a day in Positano to shop, go to a beach and have dinner (we have reservations at Ristorante Caffe Positano). Does it seem crazy to go first to Fiordo di Furore for the beach, and then on to Positano for walking around, shopping and dinner? How difficult would this be as far as transportation? Also, since we won't have an opportunity to return to our hotel in Amalfi to change and prepare for dinner after the beach (this would be true whether we went to FDF or a Positano beach), what do you suggest?

We went to Fiordi for a swim and it was wonderful. There is scant parking available there, though if you're getting a ride or taking the bus, it's on the main drag. We rented our hotel's mini electric car not much bigger than a Vespa but with a roof and 4 wheels, so for us it was not too bad. The nearest little restaurant a 3-minute walk away let us park for 5 Euros and then took that off our bill when we came back and got a drink and snack.
Like all the beaches there, it's pebble, not sand, so cleanup is easier for changing into dinner clothes.
