Finding nice hotel in Cennobbio,on lake como

Thanks,but much too pricey for us!! Yes,Verenna,is lovely,but we need a close base to Malpensa airport.Staying there would be too risky,for missing our flight.We will be making day trip on ferry to all beautiful villages.Cennobio,seems to be our best choice,for location.Thank you anyway,Maria

Argegno is near Cernobbio and about an hour's drive to Malpensa. It's a really nice town with reasonably priced places to stay.

It would help to know what time your flight leaves? I suspect the travel time wouldn't be much different if you stayed in Varenna?

The travel time from Cernobbio to Malpensa by car is about an hour under ideal conditions. If there are "complications" such as traffic problems or whatever, that time is going to increase quickly.

Travel from Varenna to Milano Centrale is about an hour, and from there the Malpensa Shuttle would be another 50 minutes to T1 at MXP. The Shuttle has departures every 20 minutes, so you wouldn't have to wait long.

My suggestion would be to drop the car as early as possible and use public transit. If your flight leaves really early, you could also stay in Milan for the night and take the Malpensa Express which runs from Cadorna station.

I don't have any suggestions on Hotels in Cernobbio, but you might check TripAdvisor as there are lots of Hotels listed. Albergo Trattoria La Vignetta seems to get good ratings and the average price looks good. Check Their website for the details.
