Financial Means to Enter Italy - how to document?

Can anyone shed light on how to go about documenting the "Financial Means" to enter Italy?

Foreign nationals who intend to enter Italy shall have adequate means of support that can ensure subsistence during their stay as well as return to their country of origin or residence. The availability of such financial means is one of the prerequisites for entry into the Schengen Area as provided for by the Visa Code. Third paragraph: ...equivalent credit instruments or bills of exchange guaranteeing payment, .... So, cash or credit cards. This isn't targeted to people from developed countries, but you never know.

Can be interesting note that with 22/26€ per person per day you can only survive in Italy (as an homeless, living under a bridge...)

While it is a requirement, just like proof of health insurance, evidence of where you will be staying, proof of onward travel, etc.; the border personnel simply take a look at you, older, US Passport, probably dressed ok, and don't bother asking, maybe just ask what the purpose of your visit is and how long you will be staying.

These requirements have been in place for decades, no need to sweat them, but if asked, worth having some answers, and basic proof. Financial means? Credit cards, Health insurance? Medical card or travel insurance, etc.

You may need to use the automated EES kiosks when you arrive, there will be similar questions you have to attest to with a simple yes/no. Other information provided if ETIAS ever gets up an running.
