Finally got my train ticket Rome to Venice

As a lot of you probably already knew (but I didn't until I tried to use it this morning), the Trenetalia website is a slightly confusing, rather fussy thing to use. Today is 4 months out from our trip from Rome to Venice and so I wanted to order my train tickets. Tried 3 maybe 4 times to no avail. Searched this site for help & someone mentioned they accept paypal (or maybe it was the Ron in Rome website I don't remember) so tried again and selected paypal using the same credit card that it wouldn't take and Voila! we now have our train tickets. Sheesh this has been the hardest thing to book so far. Prayers that everything works once we actually try to use the train!

You should be good to go. Credit card vetting is bit more complicated in Europe as fraud controls are a bit tighter and everyone has a P&C credit card. I'm on my 3rd Capital One card in a year, and it has nothing to do with Europe.

I am having a similar problem with the Austrian train website! Maybe the credit card vetting is the issue. Unfortunately the only payment options on their site are credit, debit and business card though, no PayPal.
