Hi first time poster and first time going to Rome in June for our 25th Anniversary. I have health limitations that make night times very painful for me and to cope with this I need a bath and we need twin beds (preferably). Booking.com is the only site Ive found that allows a specific search for these but sadly it is hugely unreliable. I know baths in central Rome's bathrooms aren't that common. Without either of these things I wont be able to cope with the hol so it is imperative I get our apartment choice right. I am currently having to trog thru every www and every apartment to see if they have these things. We can have a 2 bed apartment altho its more expensive but its the bath what's very difficult t search for. I'm hoping to spend up to £1600 for 7nights in June and whilst preferring near to the old parts of Rome, will consider anything . Anyone got any suggestions of how I can cut to the chase with finding suitable apartment that doesn't involve me sitting here til June checking out each one?? Any thought wud b appreciated.
Have you looked for apartments through VRBO? I have always been more than happy with their apartments throughout Italy. Bathroom descriptions have always been accurate. Several of the apartments I've researched for this June have bathtubs. Rates may be about $200 per night - if they are still available!
CasaVacanza.it is another source that I hear is reliable but have never rented from them.
Welcome to the gang! Hope things work out so that you two can have a stress-free and very happy anniversary!
Baths can be scarce in Italy. Try this one Radisson Blu GHR.

What do you mean by "unreliable" ?
Unfortunately you've waited until very late to look for an apartment in June with such specific needs. These appear to be booked, but you could follow up directly in case there are cancellations. They both show tubs in the pictures, as well as twin beds, but I would confirm. The first is recommended a lot here. I have stayed the sister property of the second one and highly recommend but they might be above your budget.

In 2022, because we needed a room that with sleeping for accommodations five (5) we stayed at the Best Western Hotel Globus on Viale Ippocrate, 119. We enjoyed the area and our room had a standard bathtub; you may want to check some chain hotels. The hotel also had an elevator. While it is a hotel room and thus did not have a kitchen, it did have a fridge, microwave, coffee pot and kettle. Very much an American style hotel…but with a standard bathtub.
I think with any platform, you suffer from a potential loss in translation combined with the platform not being able to physically inspect the property to verify, or fix misinterpretations.
I have run into this on Booking, and much the same on other platforms...a "washing machine" listed; but a dishwasher or a clothes washer? A balcony, but is it 3" deep, or big enough to sit on? I could go on with the things I have seen listed, then get there and chuckle.
But, your solution is easy. Do the filter, narrow down to a handful, then submit a question. Under the "Travelers are Asking" section, there are common questions, but to the right a button that says "Ask a Question". That can forward a question to the owner.
When I have a friend traveling with me, I have exactly the same requirements: two beds and a bathtub (plus air conditioning, of course). The issue I've had is that a lot of hotel rooms can be set up with either a double bed or two twins, but not all double rooms have the extra space needed to separate the beds. I've run into more than one hotel that wasn't able to promise me I would have a room with two beds and a tub, even though the hotel did have some such rooms. So be explicit in the question you ask.
Booking.com should allow you to screen out the hotels that have no bathtubs and the hotels that have no twin-bedded rooms. However, a lot of chain hotels don't list their inventory on booking.com, or only list a few rooms there. It's worth checking corporate websites to see what you can find. You'll almost save money by doing that, too. In the right panel, this website identifies at least some of the chains with representation in Rome: https://www.hotelchains.com/italy/rome/ I have no idea whether you can book hotel rooms through this website, but don't do that!
I wish I could help you in Rome, but I was a solo traveler there and only needed a single room with either a tub or a shower.
Does it have to be an apartment? We stayed at Villa San Pio, and had a bath tub in our room. I think you would need to request it, as well as the twin beds, but I think many hotels can split a king into twins.
