Festa della Repubblica in Rome

My fiance and I are spending our upcoming honeymoon in Rome during the first week of June. While researching tours we could take on our first full day in Rome (June 2nd), we learned this is a national holiday (Festa della Repubblica).

I've done some research online and have found that a parade runs down Via dei Fori Imperiali between the Colosseo and Palazzo Venezia. Does anyone know about what time this normally starts? We'd love to watch it. Also, what other festivites usually take place on this holiday that we could take advantage of participating in while we're in Rome? TIA!

Raise that question with RonInRome.com. We were in Rome over that holiday four years ago and hardly noticed any difference. It was more crowded.
