Does anyone know if there is a direct ferry to Sorrento from Salerno? I was previously looking and I saw one and no it says there our no ferries running.

Where are you searching?
Ferries are seasonal, mid April thru Oct so all schedules not out yet
For Salerno to Sorrento I think you’d have to change in Capri or Amalfi
There are other ways to get from Salerno to Sorrento

No but there is from Salerno to Positano (1h 15m) and from Positano to Sorrento (1h 30m).
