Anyone have a link where I can pre-book a Ferry from Sorrento to the island of Capri? Going tomorrow and would like to pre-book our tickets.
I doubt you can/need to reserve a seat. Anyway they should be listed here: https://www.capri.net/en/t/sorrento/capri
I used ferryhopper.com to pre-book my ferries; however, I just went to that site and there are no available bookings for that route until July 16th. Don't know if that means you can't just go to the port and buy a ticket?
Just go down to the dock in the morning around 8 am and buy a ticket. No need to prebook.
We went down to the dock and bought our tickets to Capri the day before we planned to go to Capri. That worked well.
Be aware that the ferry company will want you to pre-book your return boat (specific time) at the same time. While this sounds antithetical to Free and Independent travel, it is good advice. You don't want to show up for the last boat home and find it fully-booked. Also note that there are multiple companies offering Sorrento-Capri route (or there were in years past, Pre-Covid). They don't coordinate their schedules or ticketing.
When you arrive for your return boat home, look around for a posting of ferry slips by departure. We found that our return boat (which was much bigger) used a slip about 1/4 mile from the slip where we had arrived in Capri.
Do not expect to find a seat on an open-air deck. The typical ferry has sealed windows and airline-like seats, indoors, with no outdoor access at all. Expect some ferry rides to be as crowded as city mass transit.
