I will be in varenna and cinque terre late october. RS mentions occasional disruptions in service for como due to strikes in como and rough seas in cinque terre. Anyone have problems with either?

We experienced a strike by bus and train in Spain once but never in Italy. We reached our destination, then they were on strike for the afternoon unannouced. We thought we'd be stuck and started searching for a hotel option. When at 5pm the strike was over. Apparently this happens very commonly and no one worries about it. Nationals just shrug and not worry.Rough seas Yes in CT, so we just took the train. Not as beautiful as a boat ride but a fair option.
