Ferry schedule/things to do in Lake Como from Nov 5 - Nov 9

A few questions:

Does the ferry run after Nov 4? The schedule on the website only shows the Autumn timetables, which is for 01/10/2018 - 04/11/2018. I don't see a winter timetable... maybe it hasn't posted yet? Although it's less than a month away. I'm worried that we won't be able to visit any of the other villages on the lake...

Any ideas for things to do if the ferries are/aren't running? Seems like a lot of the villas (was looking at Villa Carlotta and Villa del Balbianello in particular) are closed when I'll be there. Also, are there any good hikes around the area where we can see nice views of the lake that's easily accessible by public transportation (we won't have a car)?

Thanks in advance! Hopefully we didn't make the wrong decision to visit Lake Como during this time!

Residents on Lake Como depend on the ferries. The schedule may offer less times, but they operate. Go to navigazionelaghe.it for schedules.

That's good to hear. I couldn't find the schedules on the website. Could you provide a link please?

Sorry, I should be more clear. I can get to the ferry website, but is there a link to the timetable for the dates starting Nov 5?

They don't update the schedules until the last minute. There will be ferries operating.

Thanks for confirming. Any suggestions for things to do when the villas are closed?

Right now, we are thinking either Varenna or Bellagio. I have read that Varenna is quieter, but Bellagio has more restaurants/shops. Either way, we would want to visit both towns during our trip.

You are right - Varenna is quieter and Bellagio has way more shops - everything from cheap souvenirs to top price stuff.

The mid-lake shuttle runs year round between Varenna, Bellagio, Mennagio. It is just a matter of the precise timing.

That's great, anything in particular you recommend seeing in the area?

Ummmm.... in November many many of the restaurants in Bellagio will be closed for the season.
