is there a ferry from capri to positano? also is there a place to check luggage for the day there?

I don't think there is a direct route from Capri to Positano. Take the ferry from Capri to Sorrento (http://www.caremar.it/pages_it/orariloaded.asp?Porto1=Sorrento&Porto2=Capri) and then another from Sorrento to Positano (http://www.metrodelmare.com/). There is also bus service from Sorrento to Positano. Don't know about luggage storage.

Check ferry schedules very carefully ahead of time. Ferries end earlier in the evening than you would have thought due to cruise traffic. I was stranded ?on Capri since I missed the last ferry bef 6pm.
it was the best place to be stranded on earth!!!
