Along with taking a bus trip along the Amalfi Coast, we would also like to experience it from the water. I know we could take the bus to Amalfi and then the Ferry back but not sure if we would be ready to return by the time of the last ferry as we would also like to go to Ravello along with doing a little bit of hiking. We will be going to Capri one of our days, getting an early start, and I was wondering if when we left Capri, we could then take the ferry from Capri to Amalfi and then back down the coast to Sorrento. Would you recommend that? I had originally thought of doing the ride along the coast on a separate day, but am thinking of fitting in Pompeii and Naples (just want to spend a few hours there) on one of our days, instead of the day that we leave Sorrento for Rome, as originally planned. We will have 3 full days staying in Sorrento. Thanks!
We took a bus from Sorrento to Amalfi, spent enough time to fully see Amalfi, bus up to Ravello, and bus to Positano and have lunch there. We took the ferry back from Positano. I can’t imagine combining the Amalfi Coast ferry with a full day on Capri.
Look at Rick Steves/Mondo Tours shared tour www.sharedtours.com to Amalfi Coast, Pompeii, etc.
Thanks! I was just thinking of taking the boat ride from Capri without getting off, if that was possible, and quite honestly I don't know how long that takes, that is why I asked. I figured I would see the towns on the day that I rode the bus. Just so much to do in so little time 😊.
Look at the ferry timetables, then do whatever makes your boat float (literally in this case):

(There is more than one ferry company operating regular ferries/hydrofoils)
