Ferry/Hydrofoil from Naples to Sorrento

Hey guys! Was hoping to get some insight into the ferry from Naples to Sorrento.

We will be arriving to Naples by train from Florence. I know that we can easily take the Circumvesuviana into Sorrento (and that it would be cheaper and less time consuming). However, I was toying with the idea of taking a boat over to Sorrento (our Air BnB guy said he would pick us up at the port, so that helps some) because we are totally water people and this is supposed to be the "relaxing" part of our trip (if that makes sense any!). I just thought it would be so awesome to view Sorrento from the water. However, if someone has had a horrible, never do that again experience with this plan, let me know!

So for the questions...
1. How far is it from the train station to the port by cab? Any estimate on cab costs?
2. We will be there July 1. Will there be lots of hydrofoils to take us over (I assume so)? Does the actually company matter?
3. Any estimate on cost to get to Sorrento by boat? I was working on the assumption of like 10-15 euro pp.

Thanks so much for any help you can give!!!

Here's the Alilauro hydrofoil schedule and prices from Molo Beverello port, Naples:

This is the only line which is currently showing a Napoli-Sorrento route, and may be the only one which runs it anymore. A note on hydrofoils? We've taken two of them in that region and neither had outdoor decks: everyone had to sit inside the boat. I don't know if this matters to you but it's worth the mention. I guess I wouldn't have called it "relaxing"?

Tickets are € 12,30 PP plus € 2,00 for each bag that isn't "hand luggage".

Hopefully someone can help with the time from train station to dock: we've done that but the cab ride was so insane that I think I blocked the rest out of my brain!

But it also looks like Alibus runs every 20-30 minutes of so from Piazza Garibali (adjoins Napoli Centrale) to Piazza Municipio - where the port is - for 3-4 euro.

We took this route in 2012 and enjoyed it very much. The cab ride from the station to the port is about 10-15 minutes. Make sure you agree on a price as cabs in Napoli often feel the meter is optional. It was 15 eros for two of us with luggage. If you plan to use the Alilauro ferry line make sure you go to the Beverello Port as there are other ports in Napoli. The two times we have taken ferries out of Napoli we have never seen a hydrofoil just regular ferries but with the open deck they are more fun anyway. As long as the water is not too rough it will indeed be a relaxing way to arrive.

Metro del Mar used to do some limited runs of this route but they're not showing it on their site. It could be that it's too early in the season for full schedules for all lines to be up.

I won't swear to it but I believe Alilauro only uses jetboats for this run.

Edit from earlier post - I did find a limited Gescab (jetboat) run on NLG:
