I will be travelling in early May and want to take a ferry or hydrofoil from Sorrento to Capri and return. Is a ferry ticket valid for a specific time only? I'd like as much flexibility as possibility for the return, but it's not clear how this works. Any help would be appreciated.
We just got back from Sorrento and did a day trip
to Capri. We purchased a RT ticket on the hydrofoil in Sorrento. Recommend asking for a late return, say around 7PM, then if you want to return on an earlier ferry, just stand by for the earlier ones. When we purchased our tickets, they gave us a 15:10 return, but we returned on the 7PM back to Sorrento. In May it will be a bit more crowded than in April, so YMMV.
Hello. We are finishing up our tour of Italy and took the jet boat to Capri from Sorrento yesterday. I suggest buying a one-way ticket to Capri and buy your ticket to return to Sorrento when you are done sightseeing. The boats run about every hour, so there won't be too much of a wait. There is no price break for buying a round trip ticket and purchasing the one-way tickets gives more flexibility.
Good luck.
