The web sites to check out ferries in Rick's Italy book list 4 sites to contact but all are in Italian. I didn't see the flag icon to click for the English language information.
Has anyone taken the ferry from Naples to Sorrento? If so, which company did you book with? We will be traveling October 6& 7 so the schedule may change, but that's OK as long as I can book 2 seats on a ferry. Someplace I read although the hydrofoil is faster, weather could limit its availability. Thanks!!
You might try using http://translate.google.com for help understanding the Italian-language sites.
The hydrofoil is the best choice and there are buses from Centrale. Here's a site giving you all the info; http://www.metrodelmare.com/ Bill
Hi again, Here's a better site: http://www.sorrento-online.com/english/orari.htm Bill
You might want to consider taking the train if you ever get sea sick. We took the hydrofoil from Naples to Capri and many people in our group got sick. If there is any wind or if any waves, it will be a bumpy ride.
