ferry from Naples to Sardinia

Anyone taken a ferry from Naples to Cagliari Sardinia? After checking flights and all the add-ons for luggage etc. the overnight ferry to Cagliari seems the best option in terms of cost and convenience. Thanks for any input. Pam

It takes about 15 hours, runs overnight and only runs three days a week. If the days and that time frame work out for you then it is a viable option. On a quick check it looks like cabins (which I would want for an overnight) are $100-$150 for the trip.

The Naples ferry terminal is relatively convenient to downtown but I have no idea if the port on the Cagliari is close to where you are interested in going after you land there. It looks pretty close to the train station but you should explore options on that end.

Have a great trip,

No personal experience with that route or line, but I did the Palermo-Naples overnight ferry in a sleeper cabin and it was a fantastic experience. It was just a really enjoyable way to travel. I'd take 15 hours of sea breeze, gin rummy and sleeping over 5 soul-sucking hours transiting airports ten times out of ten.
