?? Ferry From Maiori to Salerno Concordia ??

We would like to catch a ferry from Maiori to Salerno, and then take train from Salerno to Roma Termini. Question about the ferry...which ferry service is reliable departing Maiori? And also how is the luggage handled when you get on the ferry? We have two kids under two so we plan on also having a stroller. Will this be a problem? My family has never taken ferries before so any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!!

I can help out with a couple of these questions. There are multiple ferry companies but the ferry schedule is dependent on season so when you're planning on doing this it will affect the schedule.

There are several third party sites that aggregate the various ferry options: https://www.ferryhopper.com/en/ferry-routes/direct/salerno-maiori

There are several companies but TravelMar seems the most frequent. When you mention reliability the state of the seas can affect whether the ferries run so I would look into the hour long bus option to Salerno as a backup just so you know.

I can't directly answer your luggage and ferry questions, hopefully someone else can. I know the ferries are pretty large so I don't think there is a problem but there may be extra charges or luggage handling steps you need to take. TravelMar has an info email address you can just reach out directly and ask them.

Have a great trip!

You may have to purchase a “ baggage” ticket for the stroller for a few euros
You can do this day of on the dock

The crew will instruct you as you board but I think you will need to have kids out of the stroller to embark then the crew will store it along with any bags you have
It’s all just kept together in a holding area right near the entrance/exit
You’ll grab all your own stuff as you disembark. I am sure the crew will be helpful as well-Italians love little ones

Once you get to Salerno it’s about a 10 min walk to the station -slightly uphill
There are steps to get up to tracks in the station maybe 10 or so?
I suppose there might be an elevator but don’t count on it working if there is!
Salerno is a pretty small station -very easy to navigate
