I was just on tripadvisor and someone mentioned taking the ferry from Genoa to the Cinque Terre; I had never thought of that as an option, as I assumed most of my travel would be by train. Has anyone here ever taken the ferry trip? If so, 1) How long does it take? 2) What is the ferry company you used? 3) How much was it? and 4) Would you do it again?

From my understanding, there is no ferry from Genoa to the CT. However, there is one from Camogli/Portofino to the CT. Camogli is about 35min-1hr. by train from Genoa. See more info at www.golfoparadiso.it Note that Monterosso is a solid ferry stop. When seas are rough, the ferries will come in close to the other towns but not all the way to the docks. This happened to us on our ferry trip.
