Is it best to make reservation on a ferry from Bari, Italy to Patra, Greece or should we get tickets when we get to the port?

If you are somewhat flexible with your schedule and just want deck passage, then you could wait and book it at the port. If you want a private cabin and need to be in Greece on a particular date, then I'd book ahead online, especially if you will be traveling over a weekend in the summer.
