Ferry ; Cinque Terre , Lerici

We are planning on taking the ferry from Lerici to Cinque Terre. Has anyone taken a Ferry ride from Lerici, CT or any of the surrounding towns? Are the ferries easy to use? Do they run on time? Are the seas calm ( late June )? For someone who is prone to motion sickness, would a ferry ride be a bad idea? Most of all, did you enjoy the ride? Would you do it again? Recommend it to a friend?

Hi Cheri. We took the ferry between the CT towns. They are easy to use but of course there's no telling when the seas will be rough...no way of knowing in June whether the seas will be calm or not. The ferries ran 2 out of the 3 days that we were there. We really enjoyed the ride because the view of the towns from the water is really unique & very picturesque. Can't comment on the motion sickness issue because that tends to not be an issue for me but if I were you, I'd use the acupressure wrist bands just in case.

It's really impossible to tell when the sea will be rough. We were there in late May for 3 days and the ferry did not run for two of those days because of high seas. The ferry is very easy to use. The ferry boat is not small and we were quite comfortable. Can't comment on motion sickness.

Hi Cheri, When we were on the RS Village Italy tour we took the ferry from Lerici to Cinque Terre and stopped for a couple of hours at Portovenere. Both towns and the views from the ferry were fabulous! It ran right on time and we were lucky as the seas were calm. It was mid-June.
