Hi Eric -
There are no direct ferries from Naples to Amalfi. From one of the regional ferry schedule pages:
"Unfortunately, there are no direct ferry routes which connect Naples and the Amalfi Coast. The Sorrento - Positano - Amalfi route usually runs from mid-May."
So you'd need to go from Naples to Sorrento or island of Capri (neither are the Amalfi Coast but they're in the vicinity) and another ferry from there to Amalfi. Use this webpage for figuring out how to coordinate your sailings: chose your departure docks from the dropdown.

The last ferry leaves for Amalfi much later in the day from Capri (19:00) than from Sorrento (14:55).
Excellent! Thanks Kathy.
So with an international arrival of 3:15p and given the times you've referenced - (it would have to be from Capri) will I have enough time to get to Amalfi by the evening using ferries? Sounds like it would be close...maybe busing it might be an option?
Another option would be this shuttle service. Takes about 1 hour. Direct from NAP to Amalfi.
will I have enough time to get to Amalfi by the evening using ferries?
Yeow, I squirm anytime I have to make rash promises when it involves transport in Italy!
One would think that you could make that last 7:00 PM (19:00) ferry from Capri with 3 hours and 34 minutes to do it but a delayed flight or other snag... I'd have a Plan B, and that plan would largely involve a combo of commuter train to Sorrento and SITA bus from there or the shuttle recommended above (probably the most convenient way). Plan C would be a private driver from ___ but that would be really pricey.
Anyway, you don't want to get stuck on Capri...although it's not a bad place to spend a night!
Just checking: what month are you traveling? That 19:00 ferry only looks to run through the end of August.
Gerri - appreciate that much...ill have a look.
Kathy - promises...I get that totally...no worries at all. understood.
but will be leaving next Sunday arriving the 14th at 3:15.
will be planning the back-up just in case.
So this would be bus (?) from airport to Naples then taxi (?) to the ferry docks then ferry to Capri then ferry to Amalfi ??
Or direct bus from airport to Sorrento then walk across the street to SITA bus to Amalfi.
The direct bus airport to Amalfi is looking better and better.
Laura B,
The Alibus goes from the airport to the port, there's only one stop at Napoli central. Takes max 30 minutes cost is 4 euro. No need to take a 22 E taxi.
The shuttle bus goes direct to Amalfi.
