Ferrari Museums - How Are They Different?

We'll be in Bologna this spring and are contemplating a short trip to one of the Ferrari museums...in Modena and Maranello.

How are they different? I would be more interested in vintage cars and history than newer race cars.

Thanks.

We will be visiting both museums in June (for the first time). If you go on their website, it gives you plenty of information about the museums, ticket pricing and shuttle buses between the two. The museum in Modena is the home of Enzo Ferrari and the museum in Maranello is the actual car museum with a large selection of cars to view, as well as an F1 simulator. There are tours available as well. If you are an F1 fan, there is also a nearby restaurant called Ristorante Montana that has all sorts of memborabilia and signed napkins, etc. from past and present F1 drivers. My family will be spending the entire day absorbed in the Ferrari world, beginning with my husband and son taking the exclusive Ferrari owners tour inside the factory! Needless to say, the boys in my family are extremely excited about this part of our month long trip to Italy.

I'll be in Venice and then Rome in April, is there a Ferrari museum in a day trip distance from either of those cities?

Venice is the closer location. A train ride would be 90 minutes to 2 hours each way.

The newer Modena location is walkable in less than 10 minutes from Modena train station, or there is a shuttle bus running 6 times/day. Visiting the Maranello location requires using the shuttle bus (or a taxi). I would say that Maranello has more cars, but both sites have a range of vintages and styles.
