We will be in Ferrara in late March visiting our daughter studying at the university. Any recommendations on a hotel/flat that will be convenient?

We had a fine stay at the Hotel San Paolo, Via Baluardi 9 (see Lonely Planet). It looks like this would be perhaps half a mile from the university. They don't seem to have a working website at present; phone is 0532 76 83 33.

When visiting Ferrara several years ago, we stayed at the Hotel Ripagrande. The decor was somewhat 70s, but it was clean and the public rooms were very nice, as was the interior courtyard. It also looks about 1/2 mile from the university, and is centrally located within Ferrara.
There's a great restaurant across the street from Ripagrande - Ristorante la Romantica.
