Hello all!
A friend and I decided to book a last minute trip to Calabria and Sicily from 8/11-8/19 and are trying to plan rather rapidly before we depart! Since the 15th is a public holiday in Italy for Ferragosto and it appears that many places will be closed/tours not running, we have been looking into staying where there is festival of some sort for the Feast of the Assumption. Does anyone have any suggestions? Any other suggestions of events going on this time period are also appreciated!
I know Messina, Sicily has a very large celebration with a parade- is it worth visiting beyond the parade?
