Feedback on Truphone mobile in Europe

I am looking for feedback from anyone who has used Truphone sim cards or phones in Europe. I have read just about everything on the net and it seems that the options are, Have a US number with a European sim card or A local SIM card in specific countries. US number cards cost more for locals to call you when you are in their country but cheaper for family back in US to call you when you are in Europe. The local sim cards for specific countries charge less to make calls within their countries but cost more to call US. Is there anything else I should consider? I would appreciate any info from anyone who has used Truphone as this seems to be a decent company. There is so much out there to consider, i am totally overwhelmed. Thanks, Alice

Alice, I'd suggest checking the websites for a variety of "travel phone" firms, as you may find one that fits your needs better than TruPhone. Have a look at Roam Simple, Cellular Abroad, Call In Europe, Telestial, Mobal or EuroBuzz. It would help to have some details on the phone you're planning to use in Europe. I'm assuming it's a quad-band GSM model? Cheers!

Call in Europe is now all in French and calls themselves Zero Farfait. It's difficult to set up menus etc. Therir rates are still good but they no longer offer an Italy pass with a local italian number. They only offer a French number now. There is also no way to call them and find an English speaker for questions.
